miss my boy

too bad he won't be there tomorrow night (2nd in the seemingly continuing series of mediation sessions, see details in previous posts). tomorrow i get ahold of the court clerk for sure, to ask whether, if we come to some conclusion(s) about the ensuing Visitation Schedule, the court meant for it to take effect upon the agreement, or if i need to wait to have Loren here until after the next court date- which isn't until May 6!! that would be exactly 1 week shy of TWO MONTHS without Loren. gimme a capital B to go with my U, L, L, S, H, I, and T, thanks very much.

rented Million Dollar Baby tonight. cooked up some pork chops, with a little rice and broccoli. such is the thrilling existence that is My Life.

it's all over....

and i finished 2nd in the NBA fantasy finals....dismal performance this week, but i'm basically happy to have achieved a 2nd place finish. not a bad showing for a newb. next year i'll do better. time to get ready for work.

ok, so i'm getting creamed in the fantasy finals

at least i made it this far. half my guys didn't show up this week, either injured or being sat and protected by their coaches for the postseason. even with average performances turned in by my no-shows, i still would've been beaten handily- though it would've been quite a bit closer.

mediation hearing has come and gone. nothing was decided, but i did get to see Loren and he made his pops proud by declaring his wish to come over "this weekend, and every weekend" before it was up. maybe i'll get into more detail on this later, when i've got more energy. right now it's 2am and i'm too lazy to post right now. next mediation session (hopefully the last one) is scheduled for the 18th, this coming Tuesday. Loren won't be there this time around, and i expect things will be a bit messier. until then, i'll attempt to remain positive.

NBA fantasy

well, i made the one more trade; opted to get waive my lowest ranked player, Shane Battier, a Forward, for Zaza Pachulia, a higher ranked (by my own rating system) player who's also eligible at the Center position. this should, with a little luck, compensate decently for times when one of my two Centers of choice (Rasheed Wallace) is ineligible due to excessive technical fouls. 'sheed blew his top (which is pretty normal) for the 16th time this season and got himself suspended for a game, just in time to cost me some stats in the playoffs. doh! hopefully he'll keep his head from here on out, but if not, and Pachulia has a game when 'sheed's inactive, i just might be alright.

neither my opponent nor i had any players on a court last night. it's a 6 day contest for the finals, and the action starts tonight.

NBA fantasy league playoffs

start tomorrow. made a trade tonight, acquiring the Suns' Raja Bell for Jalen Rose, who's injured and out for the season. it's a step up, not backwards, so that's not so bad.

i'm the 3rd seed, which means i'll go against the 2nd seed this week. the 2nd seed team is one that's been perfect competition for me; we've played twice in the regular season, the first time i won the week 4-1, the second time he won 4-1. should be an interesting matchup in the first round of the playoffs.

contemplating whether or not i should make one more trade.....

i just realized

while updating my NBA fantasy team stats (a running spreadsheet that helps me make game-time personnel decisions, etc.) that Chicago has two major league sports franchises called Bulls and Bears. i wonder if that has anything to do with the presence of the Chicago Stock Exchange?

seems a rather unlikely coincidence, considering....
